Reviews
Good food and mood - variety on the menu and prominence in flavours! Didn’t quite like then lobster noodles despite looking very forward to it. It was chewy and not well seasoned.
The beef was impeccable and would definitely order it again!
Atmosphere was very calm, a couple tables with few people around but the rest were empty..
Came here on Sunday for the afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday.
The decor is beautiful and the staff are very friendly.
Crazy rich asian themed with menus displayed on the tables inside the crazy rich asian books. Loved the bird cages and birds on the tables where you could tell your wishes to and clip onto the surrounding bird cages in the restaurant. Also loved the wind up chirping birds on the table.
The waiter explained the menu selection, and we received a complimentary cocktail to start. This was a tea cocktail and was really tasty, non alcohol versions can also be served.
We picked our teas and selected our afternoon tea option and were quickly served a beautiful spread, and the waiter explained what each dish was.
I must admit the savoury portions are very small and they don't let you know that you could get a free refill of any of the afternoon tea foods but because it's more of a higher end afternoon tea we asked the waiter and he brought us another serving.
We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the afternoon tea and loved all the details put into it.
The toilets here are also amazingly designed.
I will definitely be back again
Kai was my first experience at a high end Michelin star restaurant amd it didn't disapoint. Genuinely the best food I have ever eaten. The pudding in particular was the single best thing I have eaten, ever.
The staff were lovely and very friendly. One gent even offered to teach me how to use chop sticks. Very genuine people that help make you feel at home.
Incredible place. I would highly recommend.
We came here for the afternoon tea. Just to note the restaurant on Google comes up as closed but it is open for tea. The ambience and service was so good, amazing even. Decor was wow and the little touches of the experiences were great. The savoury food was great, so was the sweet- everything was amazing! And it was just enough food. Tea was also good. Afternoon tea is £52 per person and I would definitely recommend going, especially on a special occasion!
What an experience. Beautiful tent with pitches on 2 levels. The food was excellent. Good advice on the quantity of dishes. Top spot.
We came here for high tea on a weekday.
The pluses: Fantastic service. Fun, quirky concept experience and decor. Creative and visually appealing food.
The minus: The food tasted just OK. Some items were better than others (the macaron for instance) but overall it was fairly average and certainly not what we expected at this price range.
I’ll start by saying - I do not understand, how they’ve got a star.
It wasn’t bad. But it was like having Chinese food on the street in New York at 3am after a party.
The plating were as if where were back in 2002 and had to make something Funky with the sauce.
Putting that aside, the food was just not good. Not balanced. Not perfectly cooked.
Boring.
The duck was SO dry wow, can’t even describe into words.
The pork Bao was so boring. The wasabi prawns were ok. The lobster dish was meh. The lamb cutlets were boring and not made medium how I wanted.
Honestly, will never go back. Oh, and £700 for a couple for basically bad food… so, I’ll take my £700 next time and go to A.Wong!
Best part about it, was that I brought my own desserts from Cedric which were bomb.
The food was really lovely. We had all the soups, soft shell crab, prawn toast, the crispy duck pancakes, steamed fish rice and Singapore noodles. For dessert the pandan creme brulee was my favourite. The staff were very patient and kind, it's a lovely restaurant
